On Monday, I visited Rocket City Barns for the first time and spent almost 90 minutes touring every single barn on the lot (the location on the west side of Athens has so MUCH inventory!) In general I love to window-shop, tour almost-finished homes, and browse car lots if we’re in the market, and touring Rocket City Barns fit that mix so well! I had myself an absolute BALL and think everybody should take a little trip out to their lot and browse their great variety of barns!

From Car Lot to Barn Lot: The Origins

I love a good “from the ground up” story, and Rocket City Barn’s story is one of serendipity and entrepreneurial spirit. Owner Marcy Hamilton-Baker found herself with a surplus of space after operating a car dealership on the lot. One day, a shed manufacturer drove by and proposed a partnership by using some of their spare space to offer a variety of barns. This changed the trajectory of Marcy’s business, sparking the birth of Rocket City Barns.
