Last-Minute Valentine’s Day Weekend Ideas in Madison, Alabama

Valentine’s Day is Sunday, February 14th, and falls on President’s Day weekend, which means that many will have a three-day weekend to celebrate the “holiday of love” at some point throughout the weekend.

Don’t want to spend money but still want to get in some quality time and enjoy the fresh air? Go for a hike, bike ride, or long walk at one of the greenways or trails here in Madison. 

Grab a disc at Academy Sports and then hit up a local disc golf course. We have a handful of disc golf courses right here in Madison that would make for a fun, unique, and memorable day-date. 

Go for a walk downtown and browse “new to you” shops, including antique stores, an amazing popcorn/sweets shop, brand new Lemon and Lavender, and so much more.

Take a spin through Vintage 72! You’ll find all kinds of treasures, from restored pieces to handmade items to custom, brand new furniture. There’s something for everyone there!

Support our local hospital and enjoy a drive-in dinner and a movie at the same time! Purchase tickets to attend Friday night’s “Party in the Park” event. It’s sure to be a memorable, fantastic evening. 

Order a special see-through box of a dozen Crumbl Cookies to enjoy as a family or gift to someone you love. Special Valentine flavors include Dirt Cake (with gummy lips!) and Birthday Cake. 

Do you live within five miles of Chick-fil-A? If so, use the app on either Friday, February 12th or Saturday, February 13th to order lunch or dinner. Orders that exceed $30 will receive all kinds of fun extras, including a family game, flowers, and candy! This is such a great way to include the whole family in some socially-distant, delicious, inexpensive Valentine’s fun. (P.S. The Chick-fil-A app really is the best ever. We use it all the time and always get at least one item in our order for free due to their rewards/points system. It’s pretty great!)

Have a ton of fun at Your Altered Reality, which is a fairly new Virtual Reality Gaming Center! The employees will walk you through the entire set-up process, help you pick fun games, and then send you on your way to get lost in this immersive, incredibly fun activity. (If you haven’t done Virtual Reality in a setting like this, you’re missing out!) They’re currently running a special all weekend that includes 30 minutes of playing time per couple for $30 or a full hour of playing time per couple for $45. Go enjoy!

Enjoy wine and chef’s specials all day on Sunday, February 14th at Cork and Crust! Brunch will be served from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., and then dinner is from 4 – 9 p.m. Calling to make a table reservation is highly recommended.

Celebrate Galentine’s Day on Saturday, February 13th at South and Pine Home and Tiny Pines Children in downtown Madison. From 10 a.m – 6 p.m., sip champagne, enjoy giveaways, and nibble on Sweet Thyme Bakery goodies while you browse.
