Over the course of the last decade, every single year has been individually monumental in propelling Town Madison forward, with the biggest year being the completion of its anchor Toyota Field – home to the Rocket City Trash Pandas – in 2020.

2022 promises to be equally exciting though as the opening of one commercial property after the next begins to happen rapid-fire over in this thriving community.
J. Alexanders in Madison, Alabama
J. Alexander’s, which is set to open on March 7th, will be the second table-service restaurant to open at Town Madison (Outback Steakhouse was the first and opened in the fall of 2021).
J. Alexander’s has a loyal following of guests that have visited their locations in other cities and rave about their lengthy wine list, wood-fired cuisine, memorable prime rib, and flavorful salads. More Town Madison Restaurants
SaZa, an Italian restaurant concept, is on track to open this June.
It’s the second location of this Montgomery staple and is sure to wow guests with its open-kitchen concept, bold accent colors, and pops of entertainment (i.e. live artists painting, occasional live music, and more!) The menu is described as somewhat traditional Italian food with a bit of a “new and inventive” twist. SaZa will be located next door to The Yard Milkshake Bar and is sure to be a summer hotspot!
Prohibition Rooftop Bar & Grill is moving right along and is set to open mid-summer 2022.
Breland Companies President Joey Ceci says that the head chef is finalizing the menu now and promises to bring unique food and drink options that will wow guests. Prohibition will be located in the northeast corner of Town Madison along Zeirdt Road near-ish to Madison Boulevard. Once you drive under I-565 heading south along Zeirdt, Prohibition is under construction on your right. With Trash Pandas baseball season lasting from April through September, many are hopeful that Prohibition will open in time to enjoy menu items before or after the late-season ball games.
Breland shared that I Love Sushi Express, Slim Chickens, Outback Steakhouse, and Moe’s BBQ are all open and doing well.
(Psst: I’ve been to each of them (except this Slim Chickens location) and enjoyed the food immensely at all locations! I Love Sushi Express has a big patio which will be a hot spot on pretty days! I’m not even a big sushi fan but the teriyaki chicken bowls with fresh vegetables and fried rice is to die for! We visited Outback for lunch last week and had exceptional service. My relatives were impressed with the new layout and expansive bar! Moe’s BBQ is a great, casual option with all of their staples that local guests have come to know and love at their other locations throughout Huntsville.)
Chipotle is now under construction with a TBD opening date.
Groundbreaking will soon take place for Panda Express and Panera Bread!
Plans for The Hub are approved, and plans to break ground are being finalized!
The Hub will be located just south of I-565 next to Toyota Field in between J. Alexander’s and the interstate. Those who are familiar with The Hub 30A location in Florida know that this gathering spot is going to be a crowd-pleaser for years (decades?!) to come. Ceci shared that The Hub will be a showcase for singers and songwriters to display their talents as well as a place where multi-generations will come to relax, grab a bit to eat, and do a little retail shopping at the surrounding shops.
A 200-room double Marriott hotel is also in the works to break ground later this year and will be located just east of The Hub.
One common question that continues to be asked revolves around the status of Margaritaville.
“We are working on something that is signature,” shared Ceci. “Right now it is still Margaritaville, but just know that there will be something signature at Town Madison.”
Ceci says that as Town Madison continues to transform, he hopes north Alabama residents and visitors alike will decide to make this community their destination for all of the things they want to do, from finding somewhere to eat, have a drink, be entertained, and so much more.
