As soon as the outdoor patio chandeliers went up at Tom Brown’s Restaurant earlier this year, loud chatter began around town about what this mysterious new restaurant would bring to our Madison community.
Fast forward to last week when I first stepped foot inside their facility, and my jaw nearly hit the floor. The velvet seats, countless chandeliers, custom epoxy artwork, colorful coasters, wall-to-wall brass accents – the list goes on and on regarding what makes Tom Brown’s Restaurant so attractive, and that’s just the decor. Wait until you hear about the menu!
Tom Brown’s, a steak and seafood restaurant located in The Shoppes of Madison near Target on HWY 72 across from Clift Farms, is here to wow customers with premium food and an electric yet laid back atmosphere.

What to Expect from Tom Brown’s Restaurant
Owners Tom and Ashley Brown describe their restaurant as “premium casual and comfortable.”
“If you want to wear a suit, fine. Casual clothes, fine. We want to serve soccer moms to businessmen to those who are just leaving the golf course,” says Tom Brown, who is also the head chef.
“We want you to come in and have an exceptional time.”
Tom Brown’s Restaurant prides itself on being a little “extra” with everything they do, including the food they serve.
Tom Brown’s Menu
On a list of traits that make the food unique, the seafood freshness is at the top of the list.
“Fresh seafood will be flown in each Thursday, many times straight from Hawaii. We won’t know exactly what we’re getting because it’s going to come out of the ocean literally hours prior to being served. We know it’ll be the best of what was caught though.”
Seafood specials will run all weekend long, but when it’s gone, it’s gone.
Another unique menu item will be the TOMahawk, which is a 38 oz. steak that’s a whopping 20 inches long.
“We’re considering putting pictures on the wall of those who finish it in one sitting,” jokes Ashley.
When asked about the bar menu, big smiles erupted. The menu is going to be vast.
36 beers will be on tap, include a house-brewed blood orange IPA. There will also be a signature drink list that will vary with the seasons and trends.
“And since we like to be extra, we’re also going to have edible gold garnishes,” shared Ashley.
{Author note: WOW!}
Tom and Ashley’s emphasis on just how fresh they desire their menu to be was apparent. They have worked hard to make sure their food is top-notch while also perfecting an atmosphere that is inviting and comfortable.
Several outdoor tables will be sat family-style to bring a feeling a gathering together, says Ashley.
“We want people to bring in their groups and gather and make all kinds of new friends,” says Tom with a smile.
His excitement about the restaurant and general experience of what they’re bringing to our area is contagious.
When asked why they chose Madison to plant Tom Brown’s Restaurant, they remarked that everything was pointing here.
“We drove here last June around Father’s Day and knew this was it. We wanted to be right in the middle of the boom of a community, and that’s what’s happening here,” explained Tom. “We want to bring what’s missing to the Madison and Huntsville area, and we think this is it.”
After arriving here permanently in October, the Browns got to work being fully involved in bringing Tom Brown’s to life. From demolition to hanging light fixtures to painting and more, Tom and Ashley have been hands-on from the start.
“We are going to be owners on-site and can’t wait to interact with our customers,” says Ashley.
Tom Brown’s Restaurant is currently hiring for all positions and hopes to open its doors to the community in the next few weeks. They’ll be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week and can’t wait for guests to especially enjoy their patio spaces this summer.
