Last summer, All Things Madison first introduced you to The Village at Oakland Springs, Madison’s first traditional development community located off Huntsville Browns Ferry Road just west of Burgreen Road.
In the last six months, The Village at Oakland Springs (VOS) has exploded with dozens of new properties and rolled out many new concepts and designs that have residents and Madison community members buzzing with expectancy and excitement.
The Village at Oakland Springs in Madison, Alabama
In case you’re unfamiliar with what VOS is, it’s best summed up as a highly-curated community that will soon be complete with hundreds of sprawling front-porch homes, retail and restaurants, an expansive pool and clubhouse, a four-mile recreation trail, a pet park, and much more.
VOS is created by the same people who conceptualized award-winning The Village of Providence in Huntsville. (Author note: *SWOON*.)
Phase 1 of VOS will consist of 100 homes and is nearing completion. As of early March, 12 homes are under construction and available for purchase (i.e. if you’re ready to move this summer, check these out!) Additionally, seven lots are empty and available to purchase for those who are interested in being involved in building their home from the ground up.
Phase 1 will also consist of “Live Works” that will soon begin construction. These properties will feature separate entrances for residence and commercial space. Owners will enjoy nearly 1,200 SQFT of ground-level commercial space as well as a residence with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Each live-work will have a two-car garage and elevator.
The plans for Phase 2 were recently released with several lots already sold. Phase 1 lots are in orange and Phase 2 lots are in green.
(The families that snag lots 171-179 are going to have some killer backyard sunset views! Ahh.)
Those who are interested in building in Phase 2 will be able to choose from four builders: Jimmy Bryan Construction, VTS Homes, The Builders Group, and Ford Classic Homes (a new builder to the VOS community out of Franklin, Tennessee).
What Sets Apart The Village at Oakland Springs
John Pinter, the CEO of Red Earth Marketing for VOS and VOP, says that the “architectural control of the community is a major differentiator from other communities in the area.”
He continued to share that the architects have “designed the whole neighborhood to flow together in an extremely attentive, intentional way.”
From the tree-lined streets to the traffic flow, home styles and colors, and more, the entire development is designed to have an elevated feel throughout.
“Our guiding principals are the stars of the show,” shared Pinter. “This neighborhood is all about our architecture. It’s just different here.”
Sam Bryan of Jimmy Bryan Construction agrees with Pinter and says that “every plan, down to the fence detailing, exterior colors, and landscaping, is reviewed and noted so that the finished product meets or exceeds the aesthetic requirements from the town pattern book and regulating plan.”
Bryan continued to share that “this is crucial to not only the longevity of the neighborhood but also gives it a timeless feel.”
Beyond getting things architecturally right, VOS strives to have an elevated, intentional feel with every aspect of the community, including their brand new magazine publication called The Hearth that will begin distribution this summer.
The Heath will be a lifestyle-focused magazine that showcases the way of living of The Village at Oakland Springs and celebrates Madison in general.
“The magazine itself is all high-quality, from the binding to how the pages open and fold,” shared Pinter. “We wanted the tone of our magazine and our website to follow what’s happening in this neighborhood.”
When asked what makes The Village at Oakland Springs a desirable neighborhood to consider living in, Bryan shared that “being able to walk to shops and restaurants is going to be wonderful. In the end, you’re not just buying a brick and mortar, but rather a lifestyle and livability that is hard to come by in this area.”
