The Furnish Co is celebrating one year of business this month, and they’re throwing a massive celebration that matches their immense joy in reaching this milestone anniversary.

In July 2021, co-owners and close friends Mandy Pfeifer and Kim Aube opened the doors to The Furnish Co for their first monthly sale, welcoming a line of countless shoppers who were eager to explore this unique new business in north Alabama.

In a nutshell, The Furnish Co is a furniture store that carries high-end, trendy, quality furniture that is available to be taken home the same day. They are open to the public one Saturday per month or by appointment only. The styles they carry are similar to Studio McGee, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, West Elm, One Kings Lane, and more. Most pieces are marked down at The Furnish Co by at least 10-20%, if not much more.

Since opening last July, The Furnish Co has solidified its favorable reputation in North Alabama. The sale has continued to grow each month, so Pfeifer and Aube are ready to say a gigantic thank you to the community by offering a gigantic one-day-only discount for interested shoppers.

The July sale will be held on Saturday, July 23rd from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m., and shoppers are invited to claim a special discount on their entire purchase simply by texting the word JOIN to 833-316-0429. Further discount information will be texted to you the day prior to the sale.

Once you sign up, you’ll receive a notification texted right to your phone. Simply bring your phone with the notification on it to the sale on the 23rd and show it at checkout to receive a special discount on everything you buy. There are no exclusions, no “catches”, and no gimmicks. This is simply a “we will likely never do this again because it’s so huge” offer that is available to everyone and anyone during this special anniversary sale.

Aube and Pfeifer are excited about celebrating their anniversary and hope to see familiar and new faces alike.

“We still have a lot of people who wander in saying that they’d just recently heard about us,” says Pfeifer, who continues to share that they also have a great number of repeat buyers who religiously come to every single monthly sale.

“It almost feels like some people come to our sales just to hang out with each other,” says Aube. “We’ll see family and friends wandering around and lounging on sofas, and it feels really good to see that we’ve built an atmosphere that people want to repeatedly come back to and be in.”

The co-owners say that one of the most unexpected joys of operating The Furnish Co has been getting to see many of the same people month after month and forming relationships with them.

“We didn’t expect that at all, but we love it,” says Pfeifer. “I think that’s who we are though and who we’ve always been. This place has always been about more than making money and selling furniture, and we hope that people sense that.”

Aube says that some of the most common feedback they receive from shoppers is that “they’re so glad we’re here because you can’t find anything like The Furnish Co anywhere else in the area.”

She continues to explain that while many shoppers come in looking for staple pieces of furniture to take home, others often come in to simply browse decor ideas and see how things are set up.

“We get a lot of questions about decor ideas, and we are always really happy to help answer their questions,” says Pfeifer.

The co-owners mutually shared that they enjoy helping others decorate their homes because they both firmly believe that a home is where relationships are built.

“We know that when you’re sitting around the table or hanging on the sofa, you’re building relationships with others, and we love that we get to play a part in that.”

When asked what their experience has been as not only business owners running the first year of their operation but also doing so during the pandemic, Aube shares that “though it hasn’t been easy, we’ve continued to work hard and have found all of this to be really peaceful, motivating, and joyful!”

“God opens the door and asks ‘Are you willing to take the risk'”? shared Pfeiffer. “And we were.”
