When we moved to Madison, we were on a mission to find the perfect dance studio for us, and we hit the jackpot with The Dance Company.
I never danced, so I didn’t know all of the right questions to ask. I knew though that TDC had a very strong reputation for upwards of 30 years here in Madison, and the lady we spoke to on the phone was so helpful! So, we enrolled our upcoming kindergarten and have never looked back!
Now, all three of our daughters have danced at the The Dance Company, one of them competitively, and it’s the joy of her life.
Are you looking for a new dance studio? Here’s a little bit about The Dance Company that I would want to know if I were looking for a new studio.
In summary, The Dance Company is a wonderful option for students of all ages, ability levels, and interests, from those looking for a recreational option an hour or two a week up to those on a pre-professional trajectory.
They offer classes all day and week to ensure there are class opportunities to fit your schedule.
The Dance Company is owned by Julie George and Beth Cannon, childhood best friends who grew up dancing together and opened the studio together just barely out of high school.
YES, The Dance Company has never changed ownership! Incredible. This has always spoken volumes to me. They are still running The Dance Company side by side together today 34 years later.
The Dance Company has it all: ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, acro, baton, and musical theatre. You name it, they teach it!
The teachers are second to none and incredible instructors who stress proper technique and performance with each class.
The Dance Company performs The Nutcracker each fall along with a weekend-long recital each Spring. And summer? They keep the party going with summer classes, intensives, and camps!
But it’s not just about the classes and performances. What really sets The Dance Company apart is the positive environment and variety of options. With class opportunities ranging from 9:15 am to 9pm, there are class options for families with various schedules and interests.
From preschool to pointe, they welcome dancers of all ages and abilities. And as a parent who’s never danced a day in her life, I can’t thank their skilled teachers enough for guiding us through this journey.
