You may have heard about the new medication options that are helping people around the world lose weight. Semaglutide mimics a hormone that stimulates the pancreas to produce more insulin, which helps lower blood sugar, slow digestion (signaling that you are fuller for longer), and helps reduce “food noise” and cravings. All of this combined helps to prevent you from overeating, which leads to weight loss.
(One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to ask the real, hard, VULNERABLE questions that so many people would feel uncomfortable asking themselves but WANT to know the answers to. I went into my interview with weight loss specialist Lindsey Turner at Madison Wellness ready to ask her all about the many misconceptions that are out there – some that I held myself – about this avenue for losing weight, and her answers did not disappoint!)
First, let’s talk COST: You’re looking at $425/month with a minimum program commitment of four months. (No insurance will be filed.) This price includes the medication (your price does not go up even though the dosage will go up), your office visits, In-Body scans, and around-the-clock access to Lindsey as your specialist.
Next, let’s talk about PROCESS: You can get started by calling Madison Wellness and Aesthetic Center or visiting their website. Due to mega popularity, it’s advised to call and get on their calendar AS SOON as you know that you want to give this a whirl. At your first appointment you will have a full In-Body scan, which records your weight, muscle mass, body fat, and more. You’ll then have a private consultation with Lindsey, check vital signs, and discuss the program in depth.
After your first visit, you’ll receive your medication and get started with weekly injections. Lindsey strongly advises AGAINST the misconception that this is a “magic shot” that works by itself. A healthy, protein-packed, low-fat diet works best with Semaglutide, and Lindsey will also encourage participants to find time for consistent physical activity.
She says that side effects and results will be very individual for each person but that she will be there every step of the way to help you manage side effects AND expectations to ensure longevity and success for the long haul with the program!
Lindsey shares that, in a nutshell, Semaglutide is not a magic drug BUT a proven weight loss aide that has very positive results when used in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise.
PS: “Non-scale victories” are some of Lindsey’s favorites to hear about. Her patients have reported a lessened desire for alcohol, more regular periods, better cholesterol, and the list goes on and on!
