There are so many situations where gifting a full spa day just makes sense. Whether it’s for a birthday, anniversary, Mother’s Day, as a pick-me-up during a hard season, for a girls’ day, or to just flat-out decompress, “The Terrame Experience” is a gift like none other.

Many in our area have likely never experienced a true “spa day” due to lack of opportunity to receive a variety of services all under the same roof. When Terrame Salon & Spa opened their Madison location in 2021, they changed the game by offering spa packages that routinely exceed expectations. Guests from far and wide are now invited to Terrame’s Madison location or their Jones Valley location in Huntsville to experience several hours of pampering at its finest, and most will be surprised that the price tag isn’t nearly what they might expect.

If you or someone you know would love to experience a day of rest and renewal at Terrame Salon and Spa, consider purchasing one of two incredible spa packages: “The Taste of Terrame” or “The Terrame Experience”.

Spa Packages at Terrame Salon and Spa

“The Taste of Terrame” is your three-hour option, which in reality is closer to four hours from the time one arrives until he or she walks out the door (feeling like a million bucks of course!) This package include three services: a one-hour Combination Massage, a Classic Facial, and a Pedicure Makeover. This package also includes a spa gift box! “The Taste of Terrame” is $250 plus gratuity (15-20% is recommended only if your services were exceptional).

“The Terrame Experience” is your quintessential spa day and includes roughly four hours of services plus lunch as well as roughly an hour or so of transition time, dressing/undressing, etc. Recipients of “The Terrame Experience” should plan for roughly five hours at the spa. This package includes a one-hour Combination Massage, a Classic Facial, a manicure, pedicure, and a spa lunch. This package also includes a spa gift box. This package is $310 plus gratuity.

How to book a spa day package for yourself or your group

The two aforementioned spa day packages cannot be booked online; They both require the purchaser to either call and pay/schedule over the phone or make a trip into the salon to discuss, book, and pay.

When scheduling the package for yourself, the attendant will discuss what the package comes with and confirm that you would indeed like those service. If you choose to substitute a different kind of massage or facial (i.e. you’d like a Hot Stone massage instead of the Combination massage), you will be responsible for paying the difference. Payment will be due following the completion of your services.

Because lunch comes with “The Terrame Experience”, you will receive a call roughly 24-48 hours ahead of time to go over your options and place your order. Your meal will be then be plated on beautiful serveware and served in one of the lounge areas.

How to Gift a Spa Package for Someone Else

Owner Charla Johnson says that gifting a spa package is way easier than most people realize. She says that booking a special day for someone you love is as easy as calling the salon or visiting in person and sharing which package you’d like the purchase.

From there, Terrame will give you a gift card for the amount of the selected package (psst: always a good idea to go ahead and add gratuity to the gift card so that your recipient knows that his or her day is 100% covered by you!)

The gift card will be packaged beautifully in a gift bag with a neat bow. Terrame is also able to add a printed description of the package you’ve selected to the bag so that your recipient knows exactly what he or she is getting. If you’ve added gratuity, a little sticker will be added so that the lucky recipient knows that everything is taken care of.

Once he or she receives the gift, the next step is to call and book the services! As the gift giver, it’s understandably hard to know someone’s exact schedule weeks in advance or exactly what services one may like, so Johnson suggests leaving the scheduling part up to your recipient.

As the giver, if you are adamant about booking the day yourself so that all your recipient has to do is show up and be pampered, Terrame is happy to book the day and time of those services with you at the time of purchase.

Tips & Tricks for Making the Most of Purchasing a Spa Day Package

Johnson says that enjoying a special day like this at Terrame is all about relaxing, getting away, and indulging in a bit of self-care, so she wants guests to feel completely at ease when navigating the booking process. Here are some tips and tricks to make this one of the best days you’ve had in a long time or making this one of the best gifts your recipient has ever received!

Tip #1: Book your services early.

If you want your wife to enjoy a spa day on her birthday but you also want her to book the services herself (because you know she might prefer that!), then consider purchasing and gifting the gift card about 1-2 months ahead of time. The odds of her being able to book all of the exact treatments she wants is very high because she’s booking early. Last-minute or week-of reservations are occasionally hard to accommodate due to the popularity of this luxurious salon and spa. So again, the key is to book as early as you can.

Tip #2: Know that these packages are flexible.

Though Terrame suggests certain services to go with each package, they are still both highly customizable. For example, if your recipient decides that he or she doesn’t want to go to the spa for 4-5 hours, they can use the gift card for separate trips. Maybe they’d prefer the facial one day, a massage another day, and a manicure another visit. All of that is totally doable! The gift cards never expire and can be used at any of the three Terrame locations (Madison, Midtown, and Jones Valley).

Tip #3: Terrame is upon until 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, so Johnson suggests starting the spa day packages no later than 2 p.m. on a weekday.

The salon is open until 5 p.m. on Saturdays, but please keep in mind that this is generally their busiest day of the week and may require some advanced booking times.

Tip #4: Terrame loves to personalize a spa day for your group, so make sure to share with the person booking your services what you are celebrating.

Johnson smiles as she recalls a group of out-of-town women who met in Huntsville for a girls weekend recently. They requested a spa day together at Terrame, and Johnson says that they had so much fun making sure everything was perfect and to their liking. She even set them up in their private conference room for lunch, which includes white tablecloths!

She says that mother/daughter days at the spa are becoming increasingly more popular, including for moms of girls as young as 13!

Tip #5: You can even request to pay for an additional meal for yourself and then surprise your recipient midway through his or her services and eat together!

Your meal options will include a variety of salads with protein options (steak, chicken, etc.) as well as a chicken salad option and more. And don’t forget: They also serve mimosas, coffee, teas, and more!

A personal note from the author: I recently helped my dad book “The Terrame Experience” for my mom’s birthday back in September. He was admittedly intimidated about how to go about scheduling it for her, so I helped him out. I made the call, learned about each package, and then carefully booked the services for my mom over the phone. I then requested that they send the text reminders to me so that the surprise wouldn’t be spoiled.

Because I know her well, I also selected her lunch and asked to join her for lunch too. My dad then called later and paid for the entire day over the phone plus gratuity. On my mom’s birthday, she woke up to the news that she had a 9:30 appointment at Terrame and would be there until about 3 p.m. When I met her for lunch, she came floating out to the massage area to the lunch spot. She was so happy and relaxed and loved the surprise of having me join for lunch. She still talks about what a truly wonderful experience it was.
