There’s a new online group that’s gaining traction quickly for all the right reasons.
The “Buy Nothing Project”, a global network established in 2013, now has a “Madison/Huntsville (Northeast)/Triana” chapter on Facebook with 1,300 members and counting. This project is designed to foster community with neighbors and allow members to gift or lend all kinds of items for free.
Madison’s Buy Nothing Project on Facebook
This is a win/win situation for all members because givers are able to declutter and give away the items they no longer need while receivers are able to do so for free.
A quick scroll of the page shows items such as children’s books, games, kitchen gadgets, electronics, clothing items, and much more.
Members are also encouraged to post items that they are in search of.
