Due to COVID-19, many stores have gone the extra mile to ensure the safety of their customers and consumers.
Throughout the quarantine, the Madison Public Library has implemented a strict drop-off and pick-up service. Madison Public Library employees are strictly following state guidelines and are actively wearing masks and gloves to protect customers and other employees.
In May, the library implemented curbside drop-off and pick-up. Through their safe, quick, and efficient system, dropping off and picking up library resources has never been easier.
Requests and Pick-up:
On May 11th, the Madison Public Library began allowing curbside service pickups. To reserve items, one must call the library or use their online system via LINKcat.
When placing an item on hold via a phone reservation, keep in mind that regular business hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It is important to remember that first come, first serve is the policy for holding books.
Pick-up Procedures
Once you place your hold, you will receive a confirmation notification. Once your item is available for pickup, one must call and make an appointment.
Once an appointment has been made, the library will provide a specific parking spot where your books will be delivered. All library employees will be wearing masks and will make the experience as safe and easy as they can.
Drop-off Procedures
On May 26th, the Madison Public Library officially began doing curbside drop-offs.
It is important to note that the public library extended book return sall the way until August 1st with no extra fees for those who checked out books before or on March 17, 2020.
Library drop-offs are available during normal business hours.
When at the facility, they ask that all checked-out items be placed in a cart near the usual book drop-off. By doing this, the library is ensuring a completely safe transaction that is allowing for social distancing for all those who choose to check out books.
From there, the library will quarantine the items until they are deemed safe for the next library member to check out.
Book drop-offs could be removed from usual locations due to weather, so please sure to check out their site for additional information.
All in all, the Madison Public Library is doing its best to ensure that all library members are entertained during the quarantine. From using safe protective equipment to making drop-off hands-free, all library members are ensuring a safe and fun experience.
