Why We Hired a Landscaper Instead of Spending an Entire Weekend Installing Sod

The older I get, the more I realize that not every home project needs to become a family project. Nope!

When our side yard finally reached the point of no return (thanks to heavy traffic, partial sun, and years of use) we had a choice to either spend an entire weekend tracking down sod, hauling materials, tearing out grass, and installing it ourselves, or we could hire someone who does this every day.

We chose the second option and hired local landscape company Kendall Outdoors, which saved us an entire weekend and resulted in a better finished product than we could have accomplished on our own.

This is what I like to call a “time is money” picture series: I didn’t want to lose my husband for an entire weekend to sod installation, so we hired it out instead.

This isn’t a particularly sexy project with a gorgeous before-and-after. It’s more of a practical job where we are taking care of a part of our home that we use constantly to take out the trash, let the kids and their friends run back and forth, etc. Just one of those we could check off in the home maintenance box, move on, and be done.

Was happy to pay my invoice and have our time back. We were glad not to break our backs tackling this job, a job that their team tackled in a matter of 90 minutes, start to finish!
