My husband is in the Army, and we had been customers with another insurance company forever. But about four years ago, for a number of reasons, we switched to Alfa Insurance. One of the biggest reasons was the value we saw in having a local agent. Knowing that, in an unexpected moment of crisis or major overwhelm, we could pick up the phone and call or text our agent anytime was extremely valuable to us.
So we made the switch (which was very easy!), got a great plan in place, and had peace of mind! We were happy and felt like we had all of our ducks in a row.
Fast forward to this past fall, when it was time to transition to a new agent, Jennifer Dahlke came back into my life (she was one of my favorite teachers of all time 25 years ago!) Dahlke is an Alfa Insurance agency owner and agent.
She talked with my husband, evaluated our current plans, made adjustments where needed, and made the whole process ridiculously easy.
And then, just a couple of weeks later, my car was sadly totaled. My daughter and I were thankfully okay but very shaken, overwhelmed, and unsure what steps to take next. If you’ve ever been on the side of the road after a car accident, you know what this all feels like. It’s a lot.
When my husband was 45 minutes away in bumper-to-bumper rush hour traffic, panicked because he couldn’t get to us, he called Jennifer, and she bolted to us.
Mind you, she had only been our agent for about two weeks.
She set up our tow truck, handled a few things with the police, and made sure our ducks were in a row for what would happen next.
To make matters worse, though, it was just a few days before Thanksgiving week, so rentals were nearly impossible to find, offices were closed, and the matriarch of our family passed away very suddenly in Indiana on Thanksgiving morning.
It all felt crushing. But Jennifer was a call or text away the entire time. She and her Alfa team checked in with us almost every day. She made sure our deductible was covered pronto and kept us informed at every step of the claims process, so we never felt like we were navigating it alone.
By December 31st, just six weeks later, everything related to the accident and the purchase of a new vehicle was completely handled. We were turning a new page as we entered 2026!
Their responsiveness and kindness kept us afloat, and we couldn’t have been more impressed!
It is now my incredible honor to formally partner with The Jennifer Dahlke team and give them our full, genuine stamp of approval. She was one of the most impactful, kind, loving teachers I ever had (did I mention she was my 8th-grade English teacher?!), and now my family gets to experience her contagious joy and care as well!
Jennifer has her own office with Alfa, and she’s actually been a customer herself since she was 16. After 25 years of teaching in Madison, she has now worked for Alfa for 6.5 years. This company prioritizes relationships and long-term service over quick transactions, and Jennifer is the epitome of this!
Her office is on County Line Road near Publix; you’ve likely driven right past it so many times!
If you value having a real person you can call or text when life happens, Jamie and I can’t recommend her enough. We are so thankful and genuinely look forward to hearing from those who meet with her soon, too. We know you’ll feel in very good hands!

Alfa is a regional insurance company with deep roots in the Southeast, but what makes it feel local is that your agent is local.
As this story shows, when something unexpected happens, having someone nearby who can step in, guide you, and even show up when needed can make all the difference.
No. A good agent reviews your current policies, handles the transition, and ensures your coverage continues seamlessly.
Yes, and this is where the difference really shows. Instead of navigating a call center, you have someone who can walk you through each step, communicate updates, and advocate for you.
A local agent (like Jennifer) will evaluate your current plans and make adjustments where needed, so your coverage actually reflects your life, not just a generic quote.
