If you have no idea where to start with organizing a space within your home, or you’ve been saying for way too long that you’ll “do the project this weekend” (but you never do), you have met your perfect match with Life Simplified!
This North Alabama-based professional organization has been helping people simplify their spaces for nearly 20 years by developing systems that work for your real life, and they are incredibly efficient and good at what they do!
We have personally hired this company for numerous jobs in our home, as have many of our friends, so I’d love to share a full breakdown of the process, pricing, and the two biggest questions people ask me in real life about our experience.
Last week, we had Life Simplified come organize our daughters’ playroom. They are now 12, 10, and almost 7, so the way they use this room is constantly changing as they grow. We first hired them to create systems in 2022, and then to come back and help us edit the room again in 2024. After telling myself in 2025 that I would do a full edit myself again soon (but never actually following through), I hired Life Simplified to come back for a third time.
And I am so beyond thankful that I did! MONEY WELL SPENT, ALWAYS!
Here’s how it worked:
Their pricing is very simple: $75 per person, per hour.
And this team honors your time! They get to work fast and move very quickly! They estimated the project could take about four hours, but in reality, it took two organizers just 2.5 hours, so we spent about $375 total.
In that time, they filled 16 donation bags and just one trash bag!
If you’ve never used a professional organizer, you may completely misunderstand what a service like this is.
It is not cleaning, but rather about decluttering, categorizing, and creating a custom system that works for how you want to use the space. For example, we no longer need a playroom with 100 different toys. We need a playroom that has space to play games, use a tumble mat, and run around with friends.
They organize:
The short answer is no. You are welcome to stay out of it, stay minimally involved, or be fully hands-on.
For us, I decided to step back but have my kids fully participate. Not only did this make it all go faster, but my kids were able to give excellent feedback about what they wanted to keep versus donate. They were also able to fully see and understand how everything was being organized.
I really appreciate how they gently coached my kids through what to keep, what to let go of, and how best to maintain the system.
When a 12-year-old and a 10-year-old enjoy organizing, you know this team is phenomenal!
The short answer is also no!
Life Simplified works with what you already have, maximizing your current space and containers. They will likely make recommendations for products that will truly improve the space’s functionality (for example, they suggested very specific baskets and tubs for our playroom). I had them on hand, ready to go, and they’ve been using them to organize efficiently ever since.
Many people think they just need to tidy up and it’ll be fine (I too often think this, especially about the playroom). The reality, though, is that cleaning is very temporary, while organizing could be revolutionary in how you sustain your systems!
Professional organizers excel at decision-making, system creation, and total functionality, which is why their clients consistently say it would have taken them weeks to do what Life Simplified can handle in a matter of hours.
The morning after Life Simplified finished our space, I went upstairs to find my 12-year-old and six-year-old building a marble run together. I hadn’t seen them touch this in a year, likely because the pieces were all over and they couldn’t find it!
Now, they can!
This team is awesome and known for respecting your time, delivering efficient results, providing a judgment-free zone, and creating custom systems for you.
If you are expecting someone to tidy up your space, this isn’t the right fit (in my opinion). Hire a housekeeper to handle that for you.
But if you want a total space reset, sustainable systems, and a space that functions well, this is exactly who you should hire!
