There’s a brand new retail store coming to downtown Madison in early February that is sure to be a welcomed addition to this blossoming part of our community.
Lemon and Lavender will swing open its doors to the public and hold a Grand Opening on February 6th and 7th at 16 Main Street. Their shop is located inside a complex that is home to multiple other local businesses and can be found in the first room on the right.
Owners Shannon Fisher and Brandy Booth shared that the overall theme of the products found at Lemon and Lavender revolve around relaxing, indulging, and conserving.
All About Lemon and Lavender in Madison, Alabama
“Our objective is to provide products that feel indulgent in the bath, kitchen, or while you’re entertaining,” shared Fisher.
Fisher continued to explain that customers can rest assured that all products and packaging are from vendors that are making their products in the most eco-friendly, organic, natural way.
“We’re shooting for as close to zero waste as possible.”
Lemon and Lavander will carry a variety of products that Booth and Fisher know will surprise and thrill their customers, such as honey from Hawaii, organic maple syrup from Vermont, home decor items, bath bombs, room sprays, bath salts, kitchen towels, and much more.
“We want the items on our shelves to have a luxury feel but also be environmentally friendly. We hope customers feel good about doing their part in purchasing items like these,” shared Fisher.
When considering what items to offer at Lemon and Lavender, Booth shared that she and Fisher “have thought about things that we would like and then gone out to source them from people who are creating them in an ecofriendly way.”
Booth and Fisher have been business partners for years and agree that a cultural change is happening where people seem to be more aware of conserving and not being quite so wasteful.
Booth and Fisher, both mothers and long-time Madison residents, realize how important self-care is.
“Taking care of yourself through a bit of self-indulgence is just necessary sometimes,” says Booth. “If both of us think that these products are wonderful, we can’t be the only ones.”
She continued to say that a store like this is exactly what Madison has been lacking, and needs.
“We aren’t just selling any ordinary items. This is beyond what’s normally in a retail store,” shared Fisher.
When thinking ahead of Lemon and Lavender’s Grand Opening, Booth says that she is really driven by seeing people love their items.
“I just can’t wait to share in their excitement!”
Both Fisher and Booth are also really excited about offering an additional retail option in downtown Madison.
“We have always wanted this area to be a shopping destination, so opening a store here is something we’re always come back to time and time again.”
Booth shared that the two women have been scouting out options in this area for opening a retail store for years.
“We just see so much potential in this area.”
Fishers agreed and continued to say that historic downtown is “such a quaint little place, and it just feels so right to be a part of what’s happening here.”
“Downtown is the heart of any city, and as residents of Madison, we want to see the heart of this city thrive,” shared Booth. “The fact that our store will contribute to our community is amazing.”
