Huntsville Escape Rooms: Everything You Need to Know to Have a Blast and ESCAPE!

Today we’re heading over to Huntsville Escape Rooms; This is one activity that has to be tried at least once in Huntsville!

All our oldest daughter wanted to do for her 9th birthday was an escape room, but I admittedly had no idea how they worked, if she was the right age, what number of people our group should ideally be, etc.

We ended up going online and booking “The New Atlantis” since I’d read that it was the most youth-friendly escape room at Huntsville Escape Rooms, and from there we winged it and had the absolute best time!

If tackling an escape room is on your bucket list with your family, out-of-town guests, or group of friends, here is how our experience went as well as a few tips for booking for own outing!

You can go online and read about each of the six themed rooms available. Each description will share a summary of the storyline, suggested age of participants, a suggested number of group participants, accessibility options, whether it’s appropriate for escape room beginners, and more.

I can’t show you much from the rooms themselves so as not to spoil them, but trust me when I say they’re so immersive and impressive!

Pick your themed room online along with the date and time that you’d like to play and then arrive 15 minutes early to fill out your waiver.

Here’s what to expect once you’re in the escape room.

1.You aren’t ACTUALLY locked in, so no worries about that!

2. You’ll have a “room host” who will watch your group and offer helpful clues if your group gets “stuck” and can’t figure out what the next move is to “escape”.

3. Our group included two adults and two nine year olds, and though the nine year olds loved the experience, the challenges are definitely geared towards critical thinking for teens and adults. Our elementary-aged kids enjoyed the experience with adults, but they likely couldn’t have solved it without us. 🙂

4. The challenges are not easy, but we found that to be a good thing! The clues kept us on our toes and required us to really put on our “thinking caps” and figure out what move we should make next!

5. Your group will have 60 minutes to “escape”, and the experience went by in a FLASH! It was over in (what felt like) a snap because we were having so much fun and putting our heads together to solve each clue!
