They didn’t pick up their entire lives and move to Madison “just” to start a church.
They moved here because they felt called to plant roots, build an incredibly welcoming community, and walk alongside people through the inevitable hills and valleys life has a funny way of throwing our way.
If you’ve lived in Madison (or the surrounding areas) for the last few years, there’s a good chance you’ve possibly seen the name Rocket City Church come up in online conversations in local social media groups when someone asks, “What church should I try?”
Their members LOVE it, and they want people to know that it exists!
{Sidequest, but I personally have a soft heart for people who are looking for a church, because that decision (and that journey) can feel really vulnerable (we’ve had to start over with the church search every time we’ve moved to a new city). For many people, it’s not easy to find a place to bring your kiddos, your faith questions, or even your longing to connect with others in the same stage in life. I’m sure many of you can relate! But it’s so worth it to try!}
If you’re on the hunt for a new church family, I’d love to tell you about Rocket City Church in Madison the same way I’d tell a friend!
With many strategic partnerships and a nondenominational feel, Rocket City Church (RCC) has Sunday services at 9:15 am and 10:45 am at Cineplanet 15 (near Home Depot!).
The movie theatre setting is AWESOME and always makes me feel at ease when I visit. Nothing like listening to a sermon in a reclined theatre seat! WIN.
When you arrive on a Sunday morning, grab a cup of coffee in the lobby, mingle for a few minutes, or head straight into the theatre and get settled.
Services are about an hour long. You’ll experience contemporary worship and a message that is grounded in real-life application and biblical truth. They also have a free app where you can pull up sermon notes, follow along, and save what stands out. It’s SO HANDY! Search for Rocket City Church to download it quickly.
If kids are part of your decision, RCC has thought through it all! From babies through elementary age, kids are in for fun, secure environments where they learn about Jesus and have a good time!
For older students, RCC has a thriving youth group for grades 6–12 that meets on Wednesday evenings at RCC Central (their downtown Madison office right on Main Street!)
RCC was launched in January 2021 by lead pastor Brian Bradford, his wife, and their three children. Brian and his wife, Shannon, moved here right before COVID, with an incredibly clear vision and a trust in God’s plan even as the world temporarily shut down.
Pastor Brian’s passion for people can be felt by everyone who meets him. He wants to have coffee with you, get to know you, and do life alongside your family. He knows the beauty of doing life in community with others and invites everyone in our area to be a part of that experience and opportunity at RCC.
RCC makes it really easy to take next steps at your own pace through life groups that meet outside of church, as well as a new member class called LIFT.
They offer Saturday morning prayer gatherings, host annual off-site worship nights, and have a lot of fun along the way through crew (their name for volunteers) parties, women’s outings, a marriage retreat, youth camps, and more.
THIS SUNDAY, January 25th, Rocket City Church is celebrating its 5th anniversary, making it a really special, joy-filled day to visit and get a good sense of who they are and where they are headed.
Whether you’ve never stepped foot in church, are coming back after a break, or you’ve walked with Jesus for years and years, RCC truly wants to meet you where you are.
No pressure, and definitely no pretending! They just hope you come as you are and see if RCC feels like home.
