Two of their newest but most explosively popular services that they are now actively booking new clients for are eyelash extensions and microblading.
Certified professional eyelash and microblading artist Haley Chittam says that the most rewarding part of her job is “seeing clients’ faces transform right in front of her eyes.”
If you’ve had interest in either eyelash extensions or microblading but simply didn’t know enough about these services to book an appointment, I hope this article is enlightening and helpful in deciding whether it’s finally time to rip the Band-Aid off and make an appointment!
Eyelash extensions have become increasingly popular in recent years because they offer individuals an effortless, beautiful look without any additional eye makeup.
Haley offers three types of eyelash extensions: the classic, the hybrid, and the volume.
The classic set typically gives clients a more natural, mascara-like look while volume means volume! A hybrid set falls somewhere in the middle of the two.
Clients also have the opportunity to select their desired length, curl, and volume, making eyelash extensions with Haley that much more customizable! (I wanted less length but a bit more curl, and that’s exactly what I got!)
During your appointment, Haley will assess your natural lashes and then discuss your desired look. Though I’ve always been fascinated by eyelash extensions on others, I was nervous to get a pair that appeared “too much” for the first time.
I shared with Haley that I desired lashes that were naturally beautiful but that weren’t obviously faux. She asked me a few additional questions and then got to work bringing my vision for enhanced natural lashes to life!
The entire process from arrival to departure took three hours, so grab a long podcast and some headphones and enjoy some downtown while Haley works her magic. This included our consultation time, educational time (where she answered all of my questions), and then finally the application time.
The most strange part was lying down with my eyes securely closed, though it wasn’t uncomfortable at all. I fell asleep rather quickly because I hardly felt any of Haley’s work. Before I knew it, Haley was moving on to my second eye. After a couple of hours, I became very anxious/excited to see what my new lashes looked like. I couldn’t begin to fathom what I would look like with eyelash extensions and was very excited (while also a little nervous too that maybe they would still end up being “too much” for me.)
During the appointment, Haley was delicately precise and every answer that she had for my questions showed her experience and expertise.
When it was time for the reveal, I was a bundle of positive emotions! I was in awe of how Haley climbed inside my brain to achieve the exact look I envisioned.
Haley shared that I should expect the lashes to last for 2-4 weeks. She shared a handful of tips for maintaining healthy eyelash extensions during that time, including how to wash my face, what to keep away from my eyes (oils of all kinds!), and more.
After having my lashes for a full 11 days, my opinion is highly favorable. My lashes have eliminated the need for daily mascara and have ultimately saved time on my entire makeup application and removal routine. In a nutshell, I have been wearing significantly less makeup since I’ve had my eyelash extensions because I’ve just been so happy with how they look all the time.
Haley’s ability to blend the extensions with my natural lashes so well has really impressed me. As someone who knew nothing about eyelash extensions before my first appointment, I am pleased to say that I will be returning for a “fill” appointment very soon. Five stars for Haley!
Microblading has become incredibly popular in the last decade due to its ability to reshape and/or fill in one’s eyebrows with this semi-permanent enhancement technique!
I discussed with Haley at length all about her microblading services which she says keep her very busy! She says that this incredibly popular service always yields happy clients who leave feeling much more confident about their brows.
Many think of microblading similarly to tattooing, though the two arts are not the same. While tattooing involves ink, microblading uses pigments that naturally fade over time though never change to any undesirable colors. This popular cosmetic procedure is designed to enhance the shape, fullness, and symmetry of eyes using either a classic microblading technique, a powder brow technique, or a combo brow technique.
Microblading is a classic technique that creates realistic hair-like strokes. This process involves manually depositing pigment into the skin to create natural-looking hair-like strokes. Haley uses a hand-held tool with fine needles to create small, precise incisions in the upper layers of the skin. The pigment is then applied to these incisions, mimicking the appearance of real eyebrow hairs. Microblading typically lasts for one to three years, depending on individual factors and aftercare.
Powder brow, on the other hand, involves a soft shading technique that gives the appearance of filled-in brows with a powder-like finish. It is especially suitable for those who prefer a more defined or bolder look.
Lastly, the combo brow is a combination of microblading and shading, blending the natural hair strokes with a softer powdered effect, resulting in a well-defined and textured brow.
Haley says that these services require two appointments with the first taking anywhere from 3-4 hours. She will first have a consultation with the client to determine the desired brow shape and color.
She says that she stays in constant communication with the client during the “mapping phase” (i.e. before the pigment is applied!) and does frequent check-ins to ensure that the client is satisfied with the look so far. These frequent check-ins nearly guarantee that the client will be unsurprised by and thrilled with the final look!
About six weeks after the client’s first brow appointment, they are invited back for a fill-in appointment to complete the look.
Haley says that clients of all ages love their brow looks. Some have sparse, thin, or overplucked brows, and this helps them achieve a fuller and more defined brow appearance. Others are simply seeking saved time in their daily makeup routines.
