Looking for embroidery in Madison? On a list of things that Madison resident Catherine Goodell loves, anything that is southern, monogrammed, and matching is high on her list.
A former Air Force wife and 1st-grade teacher, Goodell is the mother of two toddler-aged daughters, born just 16 months apart.
In the Fall of 2018, she found herself at home with her daughters full-time and making yet another trip to Huntsville to pick up a few custom monogrammed, matching outfits for her children. During this trip, a life-changing idea was born: she should invest in an embroidery machine.

On a whim, she made the purchase. She named her embroidery and applique business “Homegrown by Caroline Claire”, and 18 months later Goodell is pushing full steam ahead providing high customizable items for our community and beyond.

A lover of gift-giving and “happy mail”, Goodell explains that it’s thrilling to play a part in creating gifts that her customers often give to others.
She says that there are few requests she cannot fulfill and that if a customer has an idea or an inspirational picture, she will work hard to bring it to life.
“I’ve had customers come to me asking if I can make a birthday surprise for their loved one with a certain theme, and those types of orders are really fun for me.”
Goodell, the owner of this embroidery in Madison, Alabama shop, is currently working on launching themed personalized bundles and hopes to release her first bundle by Father’s Day. Bundles would include customized items such as shirts, socks, a tie, etc. Goodell would package them in a presentable way, ready to gift to the lucky recipient.
Goodell has many bundle ideas, including gardening bundles, cooking and baking bundles, and much more.

As a fairly new business, social media has been the primary way that Goodell communicates with her customers.
Because the sky is the limit as far as what she can create, Goodell enjoys when customers message or email her with their visions. She does hope to begin working on a website soon though to better showcase her product offerings.
She always encourages customers to browse her Instagram page as a way to gather inspiration for what they’d like made for their children or loved ones. Her Instagram feed is a fantastic showcase of her past creations.
Homegrown by Carolina Claire currently has many things in stock ready to personalize, including tee shirts, bibs, onesies, and little girl swimsuits.
Interested customers can find Homegrown by Carolina Claire on Instagram and Facebook, or they can email Catherine Goodell here.
