Madison has a new MDVIP-affiliated doctor: Dr. Dennis Sehgal, MD, MBA, and he’s officially accepting new patients!
Dr. Sehgal is board-certified in family medicine, trained through UAB-Huntsville, and has special interests in preventative health, cardiovascular wellness, nutrition, sleep, and stress management.
His new office is right here in Madison on Westover Circle, just a couple of miles southwest of downtown Madison.
Telling you about Dr. Sehgal and MDVIP is one of those topics where I have to stop myself from talking for an hour straight! (Bless my poor mom who got my phone call right after I left the MDVIP office because I couldn’t wait to tell her all about it!)
After meeting with Dr. Sehgal, his loving wife, and their team at MDVIP, I walked out blown away. I went in so curious and ready to ask big questions, and I walked out with a list of loved ones who I believe would thrive under his care.
If you’ve ever felt rushed at the doctor’s office, struggled to get an appointment when you’re actually sick, or wished your doctor would slow down to really listen (and put all of the puzzle pieces together), I think you’ll be fascinated by how this works.
Did you know that most primary-care doctors see more than 2,000 patients? MDVIP doctors limit their practices to around 500-600, and that’s not a typo! This means they are making more time to get to know you, your history, your family, your lifestyle, and what being “healthy” really looks and feels like for you.
There’s technically a waiting room at Dr. Sehgal’s office, but he jokes that it’s rarely used. You are seen at your scheduled appointment time.
What a novelty!
Your first visit is a thorough one and a complete deep dive into your health. We’re talking advanced lab work that looks for inflammation markers, an EKG, gait and grip-strength testing, a full body composition scan, an audiometry test, and so much more (truly, so much more).
During your second visit, you’ll discuss your overall wellness, lifestyle, health goals, stress, mood, sleep, and more. Dr. Sehgal will then use all of your results to create a highly personalized approach to get you where you want (need!) to be.
I found this to be jaw-dropping: His patients have his personal cell phone number! You can call or text him with questions, after-hours issues, or concerns. If you ever end up in the ER, he’ll call ahead, give the doctors your history, and advocate for you in real time (he’ll even pay a visit to you in the hospital).
That kind of access feels so comforting!
He treats patients of all ages, from toddlers to seniors, and children of MDVIP members are seen at no extra cost for wellness visits.
Dr. Sehgal’s wife told me that he never stops thinking about his patients and that he’s the kind of listeners who remembers everything you tell him.
After meeting him, I believe it!
There is an annual membership fee of $2,300, which can be paid quarterly or semi-annually. That covers your comprehensive wellness assessments, extended visits, direct communication, and prevention-focused care. You’ll still use your regular insurance for prescriptions and specialist visits, but this fee gives you access to the kind of care that doesn’t typically exist in most medical settings anymore.
While much of healthcare is typically reactive (something breaks, you make an appointment and get it fixed), Dr. Sehgal’s MDVIP practice flips that on its head by being proactive!
He is working to keep you well in the first place instead of waiting to fix something that’s wrong.
After sitting with him, I thought many times about my own family and all the many reasons why being patients of Dr. Sehgal would be such a worthwhile investment.
If you’ve been looking for a doctors like him, I’d highly recommend connecting and sitting down with Dr. Sehgal and his team to learn more. It’s one of those things that, once you understand it, you’ll wonder why this isn’t the norm for everyone.
