Smiles, Soccer, and Service: Meet Dr. Adam

His patients have a lot on their plates right now. 

Dr. Adam knows this. He knows that they’re juggling soccer practices, heavy work obligations, family commitments, PTA performances, and so much more. 

He knows, because as an active father of five and busy business owner, he is too! 

His understanding of being in the trenches of modern-day parenting, combined with his passion for technological advances in orthodontics, is quite literally giving his patients their time back.

I first met Dr. Adam nearly three years ago when he opened Orthodontic Design Co., a sleek, modern orthodontic practice on Hughes Road just north of Madison Boulevard. We have trusted his very capable hands to give our daughters beautiful, confident smiles, and our experience with his practice, combined with the results we have seen so far, has been five-star.

And we aren’t the only ones who think this. Dr. Adam recently sent out a quick request (via his handy, technologically advanced Grin app) for feedback about Orthodontic Design Co.’s technology in general. Within hours, he had pages of feedback that expressed deep gratitude for his virtual scans, visits, appointment reminders, and more. 

“My daughter looks forward to her scans and likes that she doesn’t need to have somebody all up in her grill every couple weeks.”

“My son had an emergency with his expanders late on a Saturday. I was able to communicate his urgent need via Grin right away. We had a response and a plan of care almost immediately. We are so thankful for how fast everything was able to get resolved and how much better my big guy is feeling.”

What Dr. Adam has brought to the orthodontics scene here in Madison and beyond has been a breath of fresh air for busy families.

While we have enjoyed getting to know Dr. Adam as our orthodontist, it’s also been fun to get to know him as a fellow Madison community member!

Did you know that he has coached all five of his children through multiple seasons of youth soccer?

When asked what motivates him to volunteer in this way, he shares that he genuinely cares about others and likes seeing things done well. 

So, he jumps right in!

When he saw a vacancy on the PTA board at his children’s elementary school, he served for two straight years. He has also poured into local families by launching All-Pro Dads at Mill Creek Elementary, an organization that helps fathers connect and positively inspire their children and families as a whole.

Dr. Adam is an extrovert and community-minded, but slowing down with his family to go on bike rides, play board games, and go on RV road trips really fills his cup. 

And when time allows, he really values a simple dinner around the table with his family.

When asked what his wife, Jennilyn, admires most about her husband, she shares that his diligence is inspiring.

“He has learned to give grace to himself, and he’s really good at giving that to other people too.”

She continues to share that he has a very positive outlook on life and is a really hard worker. 

“He has a willing heart, too.”

Spend just a little bit of time with Dr. Adam, and patients will pick up on the fact that he is a man of deep faith. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he has spent years volunteering, leading youth groups, teaching early-morning high school classes, and currently serving as bishop (essentially the local pastor) for his congregation. 

He shares that this role requires countless hours, emotional support, and very steady leadership. 

But for Dr. Adam, it’s simply another way to invest in the lives of others.

And in Dr. Adam’s free time (what is that?!), you might just find him playing a pick-up soccer game with fellow community members or sprinting down the road getting a run in. In fact, he has completed a couple of full marathons and half-Ironman races too!

Dr. Adam will be the first to tell you that the best part of his job isn’t the technology (though it is absolutely incredible), but the people he gets to work with daily. 

“The thing that makes coming to work the best are all of the people I get to work with. My team is incredible,” shares Dr Adam.

He is proud that there is nobody else in the country that is doing some of the custom work Orthodontic Design Co. is doing. 

On top of his custom opportunities, he is proud to provide a service for his patients in a way that he would want for his own family. He knows that a smile is a big investment.

“We are put in our patients’ lives for a couple of years, and we want them to have the best experience possible with us.”
