What to Expect from Crumbl Cookies in Madison

I may not have any fortune-telling superpowers, but I have a pretty strong hunch where you’ll be this Friday: Crumbl Cookies.

This Friday, June 26th is free chocolate chip cookie day at the brand new Crumbl Cookies store here in Madison, so bring your whole family to each receive a free signature chocolate chip cookie any time between 8 a.m. and midnight.

Be prepared though to gawk at their other five flavors and purchase a few to take home too if you’d like. I can’t tell you which flavors they’ll have on hand though because it’s a complete surprise each and every week (an element of mystery is always fun!)

With the exception of their staple chocolate chip cookie and chilled sugar cookie, the other four flavors will rotate each week from a list of 125.

{Author note: The red velvet and lemon flavors did a complete disappearing act in our home after sampling a party box following this interview, and my goodness, they were divine. One adult relative declared them “the best cookies he’d ever had” before realizing that they came from a business that’s coming soon. Knowing that he’ll be able to return and grab more cookies with his grandkids in the very near future made him light up!}

Can’t wait until Friday to give Crumbl Cookies a try? Good news! They’ll actually swing open their doors for business to the public at 8 a.m. this Thursday, June 25th. With options for delivery via DoorDash, curbside pickup via calling ahead or their app, or coming in to grab and go in the storefront itself, Crumbl Cookies has made it easy for everyone to enjoy their fresh cookies while navigating the current climate in a way that feels the safest to them.

I recently spoke with owners Mitch and Melissa Hall and Brett and Morgan Oltremari (two of three partnering couples) about why they chose Madison to be Crumbl Cookies’s first Alabama location.

“We looked heavily at the growth of this area and saw that so many people are heading this way and living in Madison,” shared Brett, stating that this alone made Madison an easy, obvious choice.

Their inspiration for bringing Crumbl Cookies to Madison came from their own vested interest in enjoying the product as customers while all living nearby each other in Utah.

“We loved these cookies and quickly knew that we’d love to have [a franchise] of our own,” said Brett, an Alabama native.

The first Crumbl Cookies location was born in Utah just three short years ago, launching with just one cookie: their staple chocolate chip. Three years later there are 91 locations, with multiple locations opening in the next few weeks across the country.

“Something that makes us unique is that everything here is very ‘open concept'”, shared Melissa. “Everyone can see the entire process, from forming to scooping to baking. Customers can see it all happening.”

Melissa also shared that cookies aren’t dressed with frostings or toppings of any kind until they are ordered, emphasizing that the cookies are all served as fresh as possible.

The generous size of these cookies has to be seen to be believed.

Cookies can be ordered individually ($3.48), in a box of four (the Crumbl Box for $10.98), or in a box of 12 (the Party Box for $27.48).

In addition to cookies, customers will also find pints of ice cream of sale as well as white milk, chocolate milk, and bottled water.

The official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held this Wednesday, June 24th, followed by their grand opening to the public on Thursday morning at 8 a.m. Free chocolate chip cookies will be available on Friday only from 8 a.m. – midnight.
