Something that really solidifies a place feeling like “home” for me is having community. Throughout the handful of places we’ve lived, I’ve found a solid group of friends and mentors via gym classes, my workplace, neighborhood, and more.
Most commonly though, I’ve found a solid, reliable, encouraging group through involvement with my church.
Moving to Madison has been no different. Though I grew up here, I moved away for over a decade and came back married with children. I was different and so was this city. Madison was much more developed and felt like a whole new place. I had to somewhat start over and find my groove and set of friends.
If you’re a local woman and are looking for a community of friends, the women’s ministry at Building Church (called Blush) invites you to be a part of all they have going on. This ministry, led by women’s pastor Ellen Beach, strives first and foremost to see women grow deeper in their faith while building God-centered friendships to help navigate the twists and turns of life.
Blush regularly hosts women’s events throughout the year, though these events just recently picked back up in March after a hiatus during the pandemic.
The next event is one that they’re thrilled to put on and cannot wait to see dozens of new faces at! Mark your calendar for Thursday, July 15th at 6:30 p.m. and plan to attend the Blush Summer Social at Building Church.
Register today for an entire evening full of fun and uninterrupted time with friends. The entire event is free!
Guests can expect:
- great food
- refreshing drinks
- games (with amazing prize potential!)
- a beautiful photo booth
- a flower truck (so fun!)
- an opportunity to shop at the Blush Boutique (everyone is always obsessed! I love my shirts!)
- …and generally just a great atmosphere to sprawl out on a blanket or at a table and hang out for a couple of hours on what will hopefully be a beautiful summer evening.
Registration is requested so that the Blush event organizers have an idea of how many women to plan for, but as aforementioned, the event is totally free!
When you register, one of the questions you’ll be asked is if you’re planning to come with people you know or if you’ll be attending by yourself. The reason this question is asked is that the Blush ministry has a passion for connecting women with others and helping them cultivate new, positive friendships. Don’t hesitate to check this box if you’re flying solo. 🙂
