Women who celebrate with you instead of compete with you.

Women who are pursuing their own personal relationship with Jesus.

Sisters who are going to cheer for you as you navigate the hills and valleys of life.

Building Church women’s pastor Ellen Beach says that ladies of all ages and backgrounds can expect all of this and more by taking that first brave step and attending a gathering with the Blush Sisterhood Ministry.

If you desire local adult friendship with other women but aren’t sure where to invest your time and energy, Beach says that Blush Sisterhood is a worthwhile place to start.

The Blush Sisterhood Ministry, the official women’s ministry at Building Church, knows that one’s relationship with the Lord is strengthened through faith in Jesus and authentic relationships and wants to offer intentional, consistent opportunities for women to build community with others. This women’s ministry also knows though that building a strong community takes time, which is why they have a variety of gatherings throughout the year for women to grow spiritually and relationally and just plain have fun!

“The heart of the sisterhood is to cultivate life-giving friendships and encourage women to walk out their God-given identity and purpose,” shares Beach who further explains that Blush Sisterhood is for women of all ages.

“Sisters are stronger when they stick together,” she says. “Part of your ability to cross a finish line is in how you’ve prepared in your discipline but it’s also the result of your cheering crowd.”

Beach says that women need that cheering crowd to frequently remind them “of God’s faithfulness and your identity in Christ.”

When asked why a faith-based women’s ministry is a worthwhile place to seek female adult friendships, Beach says that “it’s a great place because you have other women who are desiring to walk in their God calling and in their faith in Jesus.”

She continues to share that “when you are pursuing your own relationship with the Lord, you realize that you don’t have to compete with anyone else.”

At its core, Blush Sisterhood is a faith-based group of women who are cheering each other on in whatever one is pursuing, whether it’s the start of a family, the launching of a child off to college, or finishing your first-ever Bible study.

“It says in Hebrews 10:24 to ‘let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds’, and we try to do just that!”

The catalyst opportunities each year are the bi-annual Blush Sisterhood Nights, which are large gatherings of several hundred women who hear an encouraging scripture-based message, dynamic worship, and enjoy a fun afterparty with delicious treats and time to socialize.

“We try to be very intentional with our messages at the Blush Sisterhood Nights so that they speak to all generations of women.”

This ministry enjoys gathering large but finds that the real relationship-building is found in the small gatherings that follow.

“We have pop-ups for a few weeks after each Blush Sisterhood Night where we hang out all over the city,” explains Beach. “If you love to have coffee, there will be a group. If you like to go on walks or go out to eat at local restaurants, there will be groups for that too.”

Women can sign up for Blush Sisterhood pop-ups during the Sisterhood Night or online following the event.

“The great thing about the pop-ups is that you know the other women who attend all want to be there.”

In addition to the Blush Sisterhood Nights in the fall and spring and the pop-ups that follow, women are also encouraged to attend weekly Sunday morning services in-person at either 9 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. and sign up for semester-long life groups too!

“In our life groups you’ll journey with other group members for 8-10 weeks,” says Beach, who explains that each group has a different study topic and meets on various nights throughout the week to ensure that there is something for everyone.

One arm of Blush Sisterhood that Beach says is vital is the “Flying Solo” team, a group of women who strive to get to know those who may be attending a Blush Sisterhood Night solo and don’t have a friend to sit with. This team will touch base with you ahead of time, extend an invitation to join a group of women who are sitting in a specific area, and introduce you to other women who may not know many others either.

“Our greatest joy is to meet you. We know that people have choices, and we are so honored when you show up!”

Beach says that showing up to the next Blush Sisterhood Night combined with plugging into pop-up hangouts and joining a life group are all ways that women can fully plug into this ministry and make deep, meaningful relationships while growing in their relationship with Jesus.
