Away From Here Series: Belle Maison Women’s Boutique Now Open at Stovehouse in Huntsville

This article is written as part of the “Away From Here” series where All Things Madison branches outside of our city and explores destinations for residents to explore when they want to get “away from here”. Today we’re heading a few miles east of Madison to Governors Drive in Huntsville and stopping in at Belle Maison‘s brand new location!

Several months ago, All Things Madison shared the entrepreneur story of Belle Maison Collection, a women’s clothing boutique and home furnishings and decor store located in an antique cottage on HWY 72 towards Athens. The story shared a decade-long history of how owners Coleman and Lauren Houseknecht continued to put one foot in front of the other and build their brand and store in a way that continued to meet the demands of their customers. They did it all while building their own family too; They are proud parents to an elementary-aged daughter and toddler son!

The story didn’t quite end there though. Shortly before the story was published, the Houseknechts were presented with an opportunity to open a brand new Belle Maison location within the explosively popular Gaslight Alley at Stovehouse. All signs pointed to yes, and on Thursday, December 1st, Belle Maison Collection flung up their doors for their soft opening.

Their grand opening was held in style last Saturday, December 3rd, and customers can now look forward to shopping within Belle Maison Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.!

Adorned with colorful, whimsical women’s clothing, household decor items, gift items, and an adorable photo-op pink wall full of faux roses, Belle Maison strikes an atmosphere of warmth and welcome.

The striking gold racks are covered in trendy dresses, sweaters, blouses, denim, and outerwear, with most items averaging $40. Several furniture pieces within the store were refinished by Coleman himself and are covered with colorful jewelry (especially earrings galore), handbags for day and night, holiday decor items, and more. These furniture pieces are also available for purchase to take home the same day!

I visited this location during its soft opening because I was bursting to see it in person, and I couldn’t help but walk away with three new items. Lauren herself was wearing a stunning sweater that was available on the rack, and not only was it pretty, but it was also so soft too! With several holiday events the following week, I knew I needed a few dresses, and finding a couple was so easy! I’ve since worn two items and will wear the third next week, and can vouch for the quality and head-turning appeal!

Lauren, a busy Huntsville attorney, wife, and mother of two, is thrilled to now serve the Huntsville community with Coleman and offer area women an affordable, bright, fun new place to find their new favorite garments. She and Coleman are proud of what they’ve built together and the journey that has led them to this fun, new location.

Oh, and did I mention that the blue cottage location in Limestone County will continue to stay open? This location will continue to feature the same garment styles and furniture that regulars have come to know and love.
