Childcare options and school year routines, in general, looked significantly different for most throughout the last year with most families more than ready for a fresh start and new beginnings this fall. Some families opted out of optional Mother’s Morning Out-type programs altogether last year but are feeling ready now to get started or resume with some semblance of a “normal” weekday routine that includes just the right program.
If you are still searching for the perfect outlet for your preschool-aged child and are hopeful for just the right opportunity to fall into your lap, I may have just the solution for your family!
Beginning this fall, 12 kiddos will embark as the charter class in the Fine Arts Club, a two-morning per week preschool program for children ages 3-5. Fine Arts Club is a new program within Fitness Arts Center, a versatile center for the performing arts right here in Madison. Their specialist is Irish Dancing!
Fine Arts Club will follow a fine arts preschool curriculum and offer exciting, developmentally appropriate instruction in music, drama, fitness, dance, and art in addition to all kindergarten-readiness curriculum skill sets.
Robin Maise, the lead teacher at Fine Arts Club, shared that one of the most special aspects of this new program is that “children get to dabble and try out all sorts of extracurriculars without their parents having to sign up and run around to these activities individually.”
Maise says that Fitness Arts Center owner Brandan Newman saw a need from her own experiences as a mom for a non-faith-based preschool program in the Madison/Huntsville area that had Mother’s Morning Out hours.
“Brandan is passionate about fine arts, and she really wanted to create something structured for children that followed a curriculum. We want this to be so much than a traditional Mother’s Morning Out program.”
Maise, a mother of two, says that she and her children would have benefitted tremendously from a program like this when they were preschool-aged.
“I used to take them to all the things individually. Now parents can take them to one place where they’ll be exposed to all kinds of extracurriculars in a very hands-on, academic way.”
Maise says that she has experience teaching at and being involved with a handful of different preschool programs and that what Newman has created is completely unique to this area.
“We want parents to feel like we are an extension of their family,” shared Maise. “What I like about Brandan’s philosophy is that she focuses everything she does on creating a family atmosphere where students of all ages get to know each other and grow confident in their dancing, public speaking, etc.”
She continued to share that teaching students general developmentally appropriate life skills is of upmost important at Fitness Arts Center and that it will be focus within the Fine Arts Club as well.
Maise was first introduced to Fitness Arts Center years ago when her daughter began taking Irish dance and says that everything she has seen at the dance school has made her confident in and excited about being on board as the lead preschool teacher for the Fine Arts Club.
“We know that this is such a unique, good opportunity for families in this area and we can’t wait to meet them!”
